Seal culling in South Australia : ウィキペディア英語版 | Seal culling in South Australia
Seal culling in South Australia was strongly advocated for in 2015 in response to increasing interactions of ''Arctocephalus forsteri'', the New Zealand fur seal, with the state's fishing industry. Seal culling in the region does not occur as a legitimate activity, but has become a topic of increasing public debate. As of July 2015 the species remains fully protected under the ''National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972'' as a listed Marine Mammal. == History == Despite confusion stemming from its common name, the New Zealand fur seal (''Arctocephalus forsteri)'' is a pinniped native to South Australia. Efforts to overcome this confusion have led to increasing use of the common name, long-nosed fur seal.
